Support & Outreach Services

Through our Support Services, we have made a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Rise Against Abuse, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organisation
We have a dedicated team for supporting our participants throughout their time with our organisation. We provide practical and emotional 1-1 support for our participants. Our team support, signpost and provide intervention for those at risk, or unable to reach out for support. Intervention includes risk assessment, referral to MARAC, safety planning and empowerment work.
This service includes support and accompaniment to court – civil and criminal, housing, solicitors, and emotional support.

Lecture

Abuse Awareness and Education

At Rise Against Abuse, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. We offer tailored courses for practitioners and the public to better their understanding of domestic abuse, how to spot the signs and how to support someone experiencing abuse.
We are happy to attend and run outreach days with our designated presentations and group workshops perfect for your needs as a business or practitioner.
We support and advise many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today.
With the right evidence, we can show organisations – from companies right up to the government – how they can make things better for people.

Legal Support and Guidance

We offer legal support, advice and guidance to our participants and those who are not receiving support from other organisations. With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. We want to ensure that everyone has access to justice, whether that be access to our partnership solicitors or just some support to attend court.

We have partnerships with both Criminal and Civil solicitors who are able to take on legal aid cases, where our team of paralegals are unable to act on our participants behalf.

The Freedom Programme & Freedom Forever

We run free 12-week Freedom Programme groups for Men, Women and Teens. As well as our free follow on course called Freedom Forever. This is run both online through Zoom and in local community hubs.
Freedom Programme is a domestic violence programme which was created by Pat Craven and evolved from her work with perpetrators of domestic violence. The Programme was primarily designed for victims of domestic violence. However, the programme, is also suitable for perpetrators, who are wishing to change their attitudes and behaviour.
The Freedom Programme examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusers and the responses of victims and survivors. The aim is to help them to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess. The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of abuse and very importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.
